Your download evidence checklist
Use this as a personal record before deciding whether to proceed. Checking a box does not run a scan or verify an app.

Compare two SHA-256 values
Enter a published expected file hash and a separately calculated hash of the file. This tool compares the text in your browser; it does not calculate a file hash, contact the publisher, upload anything or validate a signature.
For a technical check on a computer, use sha256sum file.apk on Linux or Get-FileHash file.apk -Algorithm SHA256 in PowerShell. A matching hash from the same untrusted page as the download is not independent reassurance.
A signature answers a different question
A file hash identifies exact bytes. A signing certificate helps evaluate signing continuity with a trusted app identity. Android’s SDK includes apksigner verify --print-certs file.apk for examining APK signature information. Successful cryptographic verification alone does not identify an honest publisher or prove benign behaviour.
No APK has been supplied to this hub, so there is no signature result, malware scan, device test or safety rating to publish. Keep that distinction when reading any third-party report.
Stop when the request does not fit
- A card game asks you to enable accessibility control or device administration without a clear, necessary purpose.
- A page asks you to disable Play Protect or ignore a harmful-app warning.
- An “update” arrives only through an unsolicited message, shortened link or payment demand.
- A support agent asks for an OTP, remote screen control or a fee to release funds.
A permission can be legitimate in one context and excessive in another. Review what it enables, not just the number of permissions. If the purpose remains unclear, do not install.
